Internship Opportunities

Indiana Sports Corp is committed to providing an internship experience that will acquaint students/recent graduates with the working environment of the sports industry, while providing them with hands-on experiences in sporting event management and promotion.

Openings for Fall 2023 internships will be available for review in March. Please continue to visit our website for openings.

Types of Internships

A variety of internships are offered by Indiana Sports Corp. Current internships are full-time and part-time. Each internship differs and the time commitment will be agreed upon with the individual supervisor. The following internships are available in the following areas and are determined by the business needs and the event schedule. 

Event Operations 

Assist with the planning and coordination of events.  Duties include: event operations and administration, database entry, logistics, participant services, ticketing, registration, volunteer recruitment and management, hospitality, meeting planning, vendor orders and general support.

Volunteer Operations

Volunteers are utilized for all events that include national events as well as Indiana Sports Corp owned events. Duties include: volunteer recruitment, communication and management, database maintenance and planning.  Additionally, opportunities with event operations and administration, logistics, meeting planning, and general support through the events department.

Public Relations and Marketing

Assist with advertising development and production, and communications efforts for Indiana Sports Corp and its events.  Duties may include: writing press releases, video production, video and photo library maintenance, media follow-up, contributing to social media presence, graphic creation, web site and e-mail blasts.  Additional duties include assisting with grass-roots marketing efforts, media operations for Indiana Sports Corp events and writing and editing Indiana Sports Corp publications and event materials

Graphic Design

Assist with maintaining Indiana Sports Corp brand through both print and digital communications. Duties will include assisting with design for: social media, web ads, email communications, presentations, print collateral, marketing materials, bids, and event signage. This experience may also include attending site surveys, managing and organizing signage, and working events. Design portfolio recommended for application.

Business Development 

Participate in the planning, coordination and implementation of business development, marketing, promotional and fund-raising activities for Indiana Sports Corp and its events. Duties include prospect research, database entry, membership solicitation and membership fulfillment. 

Finance 

Assist with daily financial tasks and provide financial support for financial operations during Indiana Sports Corp events. The internship experience will include payables processing and accounts receivable management. 

Community Relations 

This internship experience will include assisting with the implementation of  Indiana Sports Corp’s community related programs and initiatives and the operations of Sports Indiana; a statewide association serving Convention & Visitors Bureaus, Sports Commissions, and Event Owners across the state. Duties may include assisting with Sports Indiana social media accounts, maintaining the website, writing blog posts and newsletters, designing promotional materials, assisting with board and committee meetings, and handling member outreach.

In addition, this position will also assist with various Indiana Sports Corp projects.  Projects include on-site support of Indiana Sports Corp events, events operations, meeting planning, research projects, administrative tasks, and other responsibilities as assigned. 

Youth Programs 

Planning and coordinating youth events in conjunction with events hosted by Indiana Sports Corp. (NCAA, Big Ten, Olympic, World Championship Events). Duties include event operations and administration, logistics, database entry (Salesforce), grant committee logistics, youth committee planning, grassroots marketing efforts and more.

Requirements 

Graduate 
Any student who has recently graduated from an accredited college or university or any student who is currently enrolled in or accepted to an accredited graduate school. 

Undergraduate
Any undergraduate student who is currently enrolled or accepted to an accredited college or university.  

Internship Dates 

  • Spring Internship: January - April
  • Summer Internship: May - August 
  • Fall Internship: September - December 

Actual start/end dates vary according to our event schedule and will be agreed upon during the hiring process.
