IDDC NAMED OPENING NIGHT SPONSOR OF U.S. OLYMPIC SWIMMING TRIALS

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Sports Corp and USA Swimming, the national governing body (NGB) for the sport of swimming in the United States, today announced Indiana Destination Development Corporation (IDDC) as the Opening Night sponsor of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming presented by Lilly.

The Olympic Trials, held June 15-23 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, is the only qualifying meet to name the Olympic Team heading to Paris in July. Opening Night of the Trials on June 15 will be a record-setting affair as USA Swimming and Indiana Sports Corp break the record for the largest-attended swim meet in history. The swimming sessions at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games currently hold the attendance record with just over 16,000 fans. To commemorate Opening Night, IDDC will provide red or blue t-shirts for every fan in attendance, welcoming visitors from all over the country for the record-breaking event.

“The U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials is another reminder of how special 2024 is IN Indiana,” said IDDC Secretary and CEO Elaine Bedel. “We are excited to be a part of a record-setting event and to welcome fans from across the country to experience all that the Hoosier state has to offer.”
