INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana Sports Corp has renamed its annual Youthlinks Charity Golf Tournament to the Inspiring Sports Charity Golf Tournament after a recent organization re-brand. As part of Indiana Sports Corp’s strategic plan and mission to create opportunities for Indiana youth, the organization has pulled all youth programs and initiatives under the Inspiring Sports umbrella.

“Although under a new title, the Inspiring Sports Charity Golf Tournament will continue the legacy of providing opportunities to underserved youth with proceeds from the tournament going towards the Inspiring Sports Grant Program,” said Board Youth Committee Chair Cindy Simon-Skjodt. “The Grant Program has proudly received more than $2.2 million since its inception that has gone towards 238 youth-serving organizations.”

This year marks the 31st anniversary of the charity golf tournament. Proceeds of this charity event go towards the Inspiring Sports Grant Program, formerly the Susan Williams CHAMPS Grants. The grants support organizations that provide undeserved youth with the opportunity to participate in sports, fitness activities and life skills programming. Beginning this year, one grant awardee will be honored as the Susan Williams CHAMPS Grant recipient.

Since 1988, the golf tournament has generated more than $6.5 million that have been reinvested to support various youth sports programs. In 2017 alone, Indiana Sports Corp impacted 95,163 Indiana youth through its Inspiring Sports initiatives.

“We are excited to continue and strengthen our mission of creating opportunities for Indiana youth through all of our Inspiring Sports programs,” said Indiana Sports Corp President Ryan Vaughn. “The annual Inspiring Sports Charity Golf Tournament and its proceeds directly impact the youth in our community and will continue to do so under its new name.”

Inspiring Sports will not only hold an annual golf tournament but offer equipment for kids through its Inspiring Sports Equipment for Kids program (formerly Geared for Health), award grants through its Inspiring Sports Grant Program (formerly the Susan Williams CHAMPS Grants) and offer tickets through its Inspiring Sports Ticket Program. In addition, Inspiring Sports will also serve host to several event-specific programs including officials clinics, youth clinics, among others.

In 2014, Indiana Sports Corp launched The Exchange, an online tool that connects youth-serving organizations with Indiana companies and individuals who have sports equipment, volunteer hours, facilities and other resources to donate. The Exchange has also encompassed the Inspiring Sports brand and is now the Inspiring Sports Exchange.
