INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Sports Corp announced on Wednesday the launch of Swim IN Safety Day presented by Lilly to take place on Sunday, June 15 in partnership with The Parks Alliance of Indianapolis and Indy Parks that will provide free access to five local Indy Parks pools.

On June 15 from noon to 6 PM, the pools at Broad Ripple Park, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park, Riverside Park, Garfield Park, and Ellenberger Park will open their facilities at no cost to visitors who pre-register and take our Swim IN Safety pledge – a pledge to encourage and educate Hoosiers to prioritize safety while enjoying aquatic activities.

"Indiana Sports Corp is proud to bring this impactful partnership to life, grounded in the fact that swimming is the only sport that can save lives,” said Ashleigh Newbold, Vice President of Engagement at Indiana Sports Corp. “The Olympic Swimming Trials launched our Swim IN Safety initiative, and we’re honored to carry this legacy forward—expanding access to swimming and promoting water safety in our community."

Swim IN Safety Day presented by Lilly is in honor of Indiana Sports Corp’s Swim IN Safety initiative dedicated to making water safety accessible to all Hoosiers. Launched in 2023 as part of the legacy impact for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming presented by Lilly, Swim IN Safety has already trained over 50,000 individuals in water safety. This year Indiana Sports Corp and Lilly are working together to continue this crucial work to ensure every community has the resources needed to prevent drownings and increase access to safe swimming.

June 15 also marks the one-year anniversary of the first day of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming presented by Lilly that saw a then-record crowd of 20,689 attendees witness the first-ever Olympic Swimming Trials to take place inside an NFL Stadium at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Swim IN Safety Day also underscores the commitment of both Indy Parks and The Parks Alliance of Indianapolis to provide access to aquatic facilities and promote water safety throughout the city.
