INDIANAPOLIS – IBJ Media on Wednesday announced that Indiana Sports Corp President Patrick Talty was named to the Indiana 250, a list of the state’s most influential business and community leaders from a wide range of sectors, including both public and private organizations.

The list, available at Indiana250.com, was compiled by executives, editors and newsroom staff from IBJ Media’s three news brands — Indianapolis Business Journal, Inside INdiana Business and The Indiana Lawyer — following a months-long process of reviewing nominations, researching Indiana organizations and consulting community leaders across the state.

“The Indiana 250 is a snapshot of those bold thinkers and doers who are shaping the future of our state — from innovative entrepreneurs to dedicated community advocates,” said IBJ Media CEO Nate Feltman. “It’s truly inspiring to witness the depth of talent and passion making Indiana a great place to live and work.”

Talty is the seventh president of the Indiana Sports Corp since the nation’s first sports commission was founded in 1979 and the organization was recently named the Sports Commission of the Year by the Sports Events & Tourism Association. Already in 2025, Indianapolis hosted AT&T WNBA All-Star 2025, the largest WWE Royal Rumble in history, the 2025 TIAA Big Ten Women’s and Men’s Basketball Tournaments, and the Division I Men’s Basketball Championship – Midwest Regional. Planning is also underway for the 2026 NCAA® Men’s Final Four®, the first-ever TEDSports Indianapolis, a brand-new global TED event that will explore the intersection of technology, creativity, and the human potential in sports, the 2025 Discover® Big Ten Football Championship Game, and the 2025 Indy Classic.

In 2024, Indianapolis hosted several marquee events such as NBA All-Star 2024, the award-winning 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming presented by Lilly, NFL Combine, 2024 Discover® Big Ten Football Championship Game, and numerous NCAA championships. Indianapolis continued to raise the bar for hosting through innovation, such as holding the first opening ceremony for NBA All-Star weekend and building a 66-foot replica Eiffel Tower to anchor its downtown activation for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming.

Last year, Indiana Sports Corp launched its 25-year statewide sports strategy, called 2050 Vision, to make Indiana the epicenter of sports through five pillars of focus: Sports Events, Sports Tech, Sports Academic, Sports Business Leadership, Women’s Sports.

Under his leadership, Indiana Sports Corp has also announced future events coming to the city, including the return of the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials in 2028, a first-of-its-kind partnership with WWE to host its three-largest stadium shows, upcoming Big Ten Football Championship Games, Big Ten Women’s and Men’s Basketball Tournaments, and additional national championship games during the 2026 Men’s Final Four® and 2028 NCAA® Women’s Final Four®.

Prior to being elected president, Talty served as Indiana Sports Corp’s Chief Operating Officer from October of 2019 until the start of his presidency.

IBJ Media launched the Indiana 250 program in 2022 and plans to continue updating the list annually.

“The people on this list are not just leaders in their fields; they are champions for their communities and catalysts for progress across Indiana,” Feltman added. “One of our key goals is to foster connections among them, amplifying their collective impact for all Hoosiers.”
